Principal’s Message

Hello everyone,

As we conclude what has been an unpredictable year to say the least, we are grateful for all of our families and how each of you has persevered during distance learning. We so look forward to the prospects of next year

Below is information you will want to know for June 8th and 9th, our chrome book and materials return dates.

Green Oaks Fundamental Elementary School

Chromebook and material collection is scheduled for June 8th (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and 9th(8 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.).

With the end of the school year nearly here we are preparing to collect school materials including any loaned Chromebook devices, wireless hotspots, textbooks or other school materials that students may have at home.

On June 8th and 9th, families will be invited by the following schedule to return materials as well as collect any personal items that may still be remaining on campus:

Monday, June 8th

8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Tuesday, June 9th  

8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

If your student has been confirmed to attend a summer school program in the district, they do not need to return Chromebook or hotspot devices. All other students will need to turn their devices in.

While on campus, everyone will be asked to maintain social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We ask that you stay with your family group and maintain at least 6 feet of distance between other groups. The use of masks is highly encouraged.

School site and district staff are working together to review input from families, students and community members, along with the recommendations and requirements of health officials to determine what next school year will look like. Based upon this feedback we hope to provide a variety of learning options to meet the needs of all of our families and will reissue devices in the next school year as needed.

Congratulations to our Water Efficiency Poster Contest Winners!

Orange Vale Water Company's annual Water Efficiency Poster Contest is open to 4th-6th graders of schools within the Orange Vale Water Company's service area.  This year's winners were picked from over one-hundred entries.  As always, the judges were impressed with the creativity and water efficiency awareness demonstrated by the contestants.  We are proud to announce our three winners from Green Oaks Fundamental School.

SECOND PLACE - Julianne Markley

The Orangevale/Fair Oaks Food Bank needs you!

It was very disappointing to have missed our annual food drive. Unfortunately, the coronavirus not only caused us to cancel the food drive but also contributed to the drastic need for food that many of our neighbors are experiencing. The Orangevale/Fair Oaks Food Bank is expecting the need for food in our area to increase 5 times the normal amount. The food items most in need are canned meals such as ravioli, chili, Spaghettios, mac ‘n cheese and cereal. Monetary donations and volunteers are always needed.
